In a move that is sure to annoy Fine Gael, Fianna Fail have agreed to support a bill put forward by left wing TD Joan Collins the Independent is reporting. The likely-hood of the bill passing looks set as Fianna Fail will join 39 other td's including Sinn Fein. Fine Gael are likely to be upset over this move as Irish Water are still being examined by the Water Commission. The Independent reports "Fianna Fáil sources said on Tuesday that while the party has concerns about elements of the bill, it recognises the “good will behind it”." The bill seeks to hold a referendum on the future ownership of Irish Water which would seem likely to pass considering the Irish peoples disgust at how the whole embodiment of the scandal hit organisation has been run so far. The bill includes the following : ""The Government shall be collectively responsible for the protection, management and maintenance of the public water system,” the bill states.“The Government shall ensure in the public interest that this resource remains in public ownership and management,” it adds.
