And it begins, well .... it never really stopped. It seems the Irish media and Irish news organisations have yet to get their heads out of the sand. As Enda and co take yet another pay rise and increase in their "expenses", our Irish press is bemoaning the public and private sectors for daring to hope for some of the same. In a recent article by the Independent.ie Labour councillor Mary Freehill moans about how she and her fellow councillors are not being fed enough at meetings while the very people she is payed quite handsomely to represent are being forced from their homes into hotels and B&B's or worse onto the streets. 2500 children face the prospect of being homeless this Christmas. And what are the media talking heads discussing from their ivory coated bubbles? How the poor are causing the problems for the middle class, how the unions need to be stopped from trying to increase pay and conditions for ordinary workers and of course how Irish people should show their gratitude to their wise elites. From every main stream news source in Ireland this week there is at least one story that fits the definitions as highlighted in the above paragraph. Leo Varadkar telling the people on social welfare that they should not expect the state to "bail them out" .... what a sentiment that was. A basic admission that it's not the states job to look after the people, oh no. If there are any bail outs to be had, they will be for banks and corporations. Like most western societies today, we privatize the gains yet socialise the losses. Enda tells us how the Gardai, nurses and other front line public workers need to wait till 2018 for a few of the crumbs from his plate, meanwhile there's money available for his own pay rises including restoration of the over inflated pension packages he and his shower of scroungers can avail of. The Irish press blindly goes along with all of this, in part for access. But also in part because the State are now floating the idea that Irish Newspapers may be partly funded by tax payer money. Imagine that, a whole and complete RTE on tv, online and in print. Lucky us ... Trump and Brexit both won as a result of this ivory tower bubble class who can not see the trees from the woods. This lack of understanding or perhaps empathy towards the ordinary workers of the country will be their downfall too. Corporate parties such as Fine Gael and Fianna Fail are leading the way for Sinn Fein and the independent coalitions to win a general election. All the while Irish media engages in a full on assault of the Irish people with a divide and conquer approach. The Irish people themselves are more than aware of this approach by the press and are increasingly airing their frustrations via social media. The fact remains that since the banking collapse and the forcing of the Irish people to bail out systemically corrupt institutions, the majority of wealth has gone to a very select few at the top. Dennis O Brien is awarded state contract after state contract after having debt of 300 million written off. Multi nationals line up at secret auctions to buy houses torn from families who lose their homes in secret courts (to avoid the filthy masses protesting) at discount prices. 150,000 children go to school hungry regularly, suicide rates are at all time highs, hospital waiting lists are out on the horizon and Enda Kenny wants to talk about PORN!!!!! The Irish media needs a wake up call and a smack of the proverbial cod across the face. This "elitist" so called better than you and I class is quickly making the British monarch seem tame by comparison. How much more of this deliberate ignorance of the masses do you think Ireland can endure? Truthful Irish
